Emma Ford

Playing History

Emma started playing the cornet when she was eight years old. She began playing at the Rhode Hall Silver band where on occasions she can still be found. At the age of 13 she joined the Greenway Selectus band and spent many happy years there before moving to Berisfords, Stalybridge and then Wire brass. She also enjoys helping other bands and has played with Point of Ayr, Besses o’ th Barn and Silk brass bands. Emma joined Crewe Co-op four years ago enjoys her banding immensely.

Personal Biography

Emma is a teacher at New Ford primary school in Stoke-on-Trent and is responsible for music and RE. Her hobbies are swimming, walking and playing pool, but her main pastime is frequenting the Rising Sun in Scholar Green! She is currently renovating her second home and watches with desperation most DIY programmes. Life is never dull for her partner Frank who has been a band Widower for many years.

Favourite piece of music- Paganni Variations… Oh yes!
