20th December 2009 :: The Co-operative Christmas Charity Concert

Dane Bank Theatre was once again full for the Co-operative Christmas Charity Concert .The concert organised by The Co-operativee Member Relations was in aid of the RNIB the Co-operatives charity for this year.
The Concert was performed by the Co-operative Band Crewe and both The Co-operative Junior and Youth Wind Bands.
"A Christmas Festival Overture" set the scene for an excelent evening of traditional Christmas music plus a few special items to keep the feet tapping.
A performance of Cats Tales by Peter Graham featured in the first set and will no doubt become a firm favourite of the 2010 Concert season .
The Junior and Youth Band performances were excellent all evening and the improvement shown by both groups is a credit to all members both playing and helping.Emma Clarke now having responsibility for musical direction of over eighty young members, a massive jump in numbers and quality is very evident for all to see.
The closing section of the Concert gave an opportunity for some traditional Carol singing.
An excellent ammount of money was raised to present to the RNIB and our thanks must go to the Member Relations for their continued support which has allowed the fantastic development of all the groups taking part .
Following his thanks to the Co-operative and wishing everyone a fantastic Christmes and Happy New Year ,Jef Sparkes conducted the Co-operative Band Crewe in the finale for the evening "The Kingdom Triumphant" by Eric Ball .An excellent performance to end the year .
A big thank you and a happy New Year to all our supporters
