19th September 2009 :: 'Brass and Voices' - Stafford Gatehouse Theatre
What a great place to give a concert ! Stafford Gatehouse Theatre is a modern well presented theatre with great stage staff who always make the evening so easy for the band. This year the band were given the whole stage to play with and we seemed to fill it especially with percussion.
Our hosts were The Stone Male Voice Choir and as usual they had a great night. For myself the highlights of the concert all centred around the bands three soloists, Sarah Sparkes played The Children of Sanchez on Flugel-it was first class, Andrew Dixon gave a comical performance of "If I were a Rich Man" that really showed off his abilities at the top and the very bottom of his bass register and Nicholas Birch gave a classic performance of Slavicshe Fantasie on Euphonium.
Another great night in Stafford - Thanks to all involved.
