5th July 2009 :: Forest of Dean Brass Festival

Members of the band attended the Forest of Dean Brass Festival and had a superb day.

Results are as follows;

Open Ensemble: 1st place

Open Quartets (we were 1st, 2nd and 3rd!):
Cornet quartet: 1st
Peter Kneale: 2nd
Divertimento: 3rd
Congratulations also to Native Vale for a quartet that also got good comments!

Mixed Ages Duet, Andy & Rory Rolfe: 1st

Open Slow Melody, Nick Birch: 2nd

Open Duet, Nick Birch & Alan Birch: 3rd

Intermediate Solo, Rory Rolfe: 3rd

All in all a very successful day - highlights were Nick's Hungarian Dances and Rory's Carnival of Venice. 2 very courageous performances of very demanding pieces. You are a credit to the band boys!
