1st January 2007 :: Tunstall Salvation Army

The band has been invited to do a concert at Tunstall Salvation Army three times in the last four years and have always been very much appreciated. Some of the players in the band learned to play a brass instrument through the Salvation Army and so enjoy a return visit. January is a time when the Area Contest test piece is being rehearsed and so we take the opportunity to play it out to an audience for the first time, although not a finished article. The audience are used to hearing longer more technical pieces of music and because of their own musical ability appreciate the time and effort put in to perfecting a ‘test piece’.
